What is Wissota's warranty policy?
Your Wissota product is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the original date of purchase, provided it is used in accordance with the user manual. This warranty applies to all machines purchased directly from Wissota or their authorized dealers. If a defect occurs during the warranty period, Wissota may, at its option, repair the machine free of charge using new parts or parts equivalent in performance and reliability to new, or replace the machine with a new one.
How to remove rust spots from Wissota products?
To remove rust from any Wissota product, use steel wool to sand away as much surface rust as possible. Next, you can wax the base with car wax (apply wax, let dry, then wipe clean) and repeat this process until the surface glides smoothly again. The base will need to be waxed regularly to prevent further rust.
When do I need to replace my grinding wheels and diamond dressers in Wissota.�M�
The diameter of Wissota's grinding wheel will eventually become smaller than the diameter of the motor, at which point your blade won't even be able to touch the grinding wheel because it will hit the motor first. About 200 pairs of skates is a good estimate. Also eventually Wissota's diamond tip will wear out completely, and the metal shaft surrounding the diamond tip will come into contact with the grinding wheel when dressing. Around 4 -500 pairs of skates is a good estimate (or 2-3 grinding wheels).
How many times do Wissota's skate blades need to be sharpened.�M�
The number of times Wissota's blades are sharpened depends entirely on the condition of the skate blade. For regular sharpening, 4-5 "grinds" and one "finishing" will be enough, but one trick they recommend is to mark the heel, middle and toe of the blade before sharpening the bottom of the blade mark. Then just grind until the mark has been removed from the bottom of the blade and all chips/burrs have been removed from the edge. Once the mark is removed, you have brand new metal on your skate blade.
