Can I pick up my bag for race morning at Ventura Marathon?

Yes, the 5K race day package is free to pick up on race morning and will be on the starting line at Ventura Marathon. However, the full marathon and half marathon cost $20. Please read their description and sign up for this option here. Beginning at 5:30 am on Sundays, 6:00 am for the full marathon, half marathon and 6:30 am for the 5K, there are free gear checks at every starting line. You must collect all gear by 1:30pm.

What happens if Ventura Marathon's competition is cancelled?

Ventura Marathon reserves the right to cancel any competition due to weather, air quality or other natural factors beyond their control. In case of cancellation, participants will be notified via email, text message and social media. If their entry is transferred to another competition, participants will receive a code equal to their original payment amount to use for future entries.

Can I transfer to a friend or sell my entry at Ventura Marathon?

Yes, you can transfer to a friend (or non-friend), but please don't wait until the last minute as this option will close soon. If you sell your entry, you are responsible for collecting money from that person. Their system just allows transfers to happen, but please don't use their social media channels as a marketplace to sell your entries at Ventura Marathon.

Can I wear headphones at Ventura Marathon?

At RRCA sanctioned events, wearing headphones is severely discouraged at Ventura Marathon. Their use poses a serious danger to runners participating in street races, with emergency vehicles entering the track and runners listening to music may not be heard. Wearing headphones can make it difficult or impossible to hear an emergency vehicle approaching from behind, another runner shouting, etc. It is difficult or impossible to ban headphones during the Ventura Marathon; however, their use is discouraged for the reasons outlined above. If you choose to wear headphones, you should be aware of these safety issues.
